Terminus Map Lore

Terminus is a remote island pre-WWII coal mining operator complex that is located in the Philippine Sea. This was made a U.S Naval base in 1942 but the mining was abandoned in 1932.

Till 1965, the Naval Base was used and later the CIA converted this complex into a top secret outpost. It remained like this until 1986 when Project Janus was kickstarted here with a secret laboratory in the mining caves

The Janus Project was later revealed to be a bio-research station. This knowledge only came to light after Peck and Maya broke the Requiem Crew out of their prison cells.

In the Zombies mode, Peck and Strauss are the handlers and you have to choose your operator crew from the following characters:

  • Grigori Weaver
  • Elizabeth Grey
  • Mackenzie ‘Mac’ Carver
  • Maya Aguinaldo

All Wonder Weapons in Terminus

Here is the list of Wonder weapons in Terminus map:

Beamsmasher

Appearance

From its appearance, the Beamsmasher appears to be a light machine gun (LMG) as it has got almost the same shape and size. This weapon also comes with a single barrel that emits a super-charged and very high damaging Aetheric beam.

Near the barrel, you will also find the Resonator Focus flaps, which help in directing all the charged beams of the weapon into a straight line. When it comes to reloading this massive Wonder weapon, its user can swap out the side-mounted DAPP canister with a new one.

Firing Mode

The Beamsmasher Wonder weapon comes with two firing modes:

  • Primary: Beamsmasher fires a solid beam of Aetheric energy on its targets and even a second of its exposure breaks down zombies to the molecular level. The meaty bodies melt instantly as their innards crumble on the ground.
  • Secondary: At the top of Beamsmasher is a radar-like antenna device that transforms the weapon. This device fires focused sound waves and affects multiple enemies at once. While the primary firing mode is a direct beam, the secondary acts like an AoE attack. All zombies that are hit by the sound waves become slow and do not attack the player for a short time. Enemies hit by this firing mode also become weak towards any incoming damage.

NOTE

As a player uses the Beamsmasher, it may start venting energy overtime due to excess use of the ammunition. The automatic reload could trigger a smaller AoE blast that does not affect the player but the zombies around the weapon wielder.

All Traps in Terminus Map

Tentacle Traps

In the prison complex section of the Terminus island, you will find shutter vents with a containment unit at its top. These are usually placed in a room over the entrance door.

You will mostly find a switch or an activation device that triggers the shutter vents and long, limb-like tendrils pop out of the vent spaces. Mindless zombies hungry for your blood will rush these doors and fall into the trap. The tendrils grab these meaty flesh bags for feasting as they try to pass through the trap.

Void Cannon Trap

Another powerful trap you can find in Terminus is the Void Cannon Trap. This is a 16-inch artillery cannon that was initially installed in 1942 on the island. After that, it collected dust and was left to rust over time.

However, when Project Janus kickstarted, the cannon was upgraded and it now uses Aetherium, which turns this massive artillery cannon into a powerful singularity trap. If you have enough power, the cannon now fires an Aether Beam. The beam’s muzzle flash acts as a singularity, slowing down enemies and pulling any zombies in the area beneath the cannon into the beam before vaporizing them.

The Tentacle

Besides the prison complex area of Terminus Island, when you venture into the sea using the boat, expect to find a thrashing tendril whose aim is to destroy anything that moves in the water. This grotesque, worm-like creature appears to have a kind of primitive intelligence, as it quickly spawns its massive tendril out of the water on the boat. The monster spews clouds of poisonous fumes from its gaping mouth before vanishing beneath the waves.
