Brain Rot is an Ammo Mod that applies toxic damage to its targets in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Every time you fire your weapon with the Brain Rot Ammo Mod applied to it, there is some chance that a normal or a special enemy will become your ally for some time.
Turned zombies that become ally will start attacking other enemies in the field. These also act as a decoy as some zombies will start attacking the turned enemy instead of you.
How To Equip Brain Rot
You can equip the Brain Rot Ammo Mod from the Arsenal Machine by spending Salvage. However, you will first need to unlock the Brain Rot by reaching level 27 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
If you have not reached level 27, the Brain Rot Ammo Mod will be locked at the Arsenal Machine and cannot be equipped.
All Brain Rot Ammo Mod Augments
Similar to the Perk-A-Colas, the Ammo Mods also come with Augments: three Major and three Minor.
By Default, the Brain Rot Augment research is locked. However, you can start researching Augments for this after unlocking 12 other Augments. These can range from Perk-a-Colas, Field Upgrades and other Ammo Mods.

Major Augments
- Plague: Charmed enemies have a chance to infect and convert other enemies.
- Pheromone: Charmed enemies temporarily distract nearby standard and special enemies.
- Big Game: Brain Rot can charm elite enemies.
Minor Augments
- Extension: Slightly increases the duration of Brain Rot.
- Haste: Reduces the cooldown time of Brain Rot.
- Explosive: When Brain Rot’s effect ends, charmed enemies explode, inflicting toxic damage.
